Project: NATO- Success Story of Development

Discussion  with  Gintaras Bagdonas, NATO Liaison Officer in Georgia,  Mamuka Shiukashvili Representative of General Staff of Georgia Head of Department of Politics and Planning, Arina Tavakarashvili, expert, Lecturer of Sulkhan Saba University

25 th October 2018 Discussion with  Gintaras Bagdonas - NATO Liaison Officer in Georgia,  Mamuka Shiukashvili - Head of Department of Politics and Planning - J5, General Staff of Georgia, Arina Tavakarashvili - expert, Lecturer of Sulkhan Saba University held in NATO Liaison office in Georgia, Tbilisi.

Topics of discussion were NATO as a Military Organization, Cooperation within the Alliance and beyond; NATOs missions and operations; NATO – Georgia partnership in sphere of Defence and Security; SNGP; Security environment towards the Occupation Line and Shida Kartli region. Discussion followed with Q and A session.

The discussion was part of the project of ICGS "NATO-Success Story of Development"- NATO, the History of Successful Transformation: countries before, and after Joining the Alliance, security guaranties and obligation regarding the Alliance.

General aim of the project: raising civil awareness regarding NATO through holding public lectures and discussions with representatives of NATO Liaison office, Ambassadors of NATO allied countries Georgian officials and experts.

Students of International Relation, Law and Political sciences faculties from Shida Kartli Region and Tbilisi participated in the Discussion.

The project was implemented with financial support of NATO Public Diplomacy Division.
